Founded in 1996, the non-profit Vernon Police Athletic league offers a variety of activities for both youngsters and adults. The P.A.L. is a funtional alternative and helps keeps kids off the streets. Membership to the organization is only $10.00 per year, and includes:
- Boxing
- Judo
- Wrestling
- Weightlifting
- Basketball
- Pool Table
- Ping-Pong
- A computer room for kids
The P.A.L. relies heavily on contributions, so people with any instructors and coaching skills are encouraged to donate their time and effort. Also, a Booster Club is underway, so citizens are also encouraged to participate finacially. Old sporting goods, chairs, computers and other equipment make a nice charitable contribution as well.
Childrens and adult classes are offered, and more information on schedules can be obtained by contacting Moe Curtis at (860) 870-8725. The hours of operation for member access are Monday through Friday, 3:30 - 7:30. Anyone from the Tri-Town Area is welcome.
